Hello!
I bet you were expecting this note to open with a season-conforming greeting along the lines of “Happy Fall”!
But I didn’t because it’s still summer.
It’s. Still. Summer.
How do I know? Because the State Fair is in session. When the 2022 Minnesota State Fair closes its gates tomorrow on Labor Day, I’ll admit that summer is over. Until then, I refuse to think about fall and the inevitable Minnesota “W” season to follow.
Ok, that’s not completely true. I have been thinking about fall.
In fact, I’ve been thinking too much about fall and how I’m about to become an empty nester. These final few summer days have been filled with list making, Target runs, and overly sappy college nostalgia. In an attempt to stay present and not go over the deep end with the college planning “what ifs” and “you shoulds”, I’ve been wearing a ruby pendant on my I AMulet® to remember that authenticity is always preferable to perfection. Micromanaging life’s big transitional moments in the quest for a perfect outcome is never a good idea. Not only will you drive yourself and everyone else crazy in the process, you’ll miss the beauty and importance of the moment you sought to control
Stay present. Stay yourself. Be authentic. That’s my focus these days.

In Person Market News
To those of you who visited my table July during the Loring Art Fair weekend at Lakes & Legends Taproom, THANK YOU! I had a ton of fun at that market. The Loring Art Fair was going on a block away, and lots and lots of folk wandered over looking for cold beverages and air conditioning. Luckily, both were present in spades!
In August I was honored to attend a Minnesota Heart Institute Foundation event at Quincy Hall. As a doctor myself, I know how important heart health education is for women. I met many wonderful new people and gave a portion of my sales from the evening back to the organization.
For September I have two events THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND!
On SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10th I’ll be at the St Louis Park Art Fair from 10-5. This is a juried event (my first!) and in it’s fourth year. I’m excited to be in my own neighborhood!
On SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 11th I’ll be at Sociable CiderWerks with Minneapolis Craft Market from 12-5. I haven’t been a market vendor at this location since Summer 2019 and I’m looking forward to returning. The event is super relaxing and the cider is always tasty.
